DAY 21 & 22: Refinishing

Making something OLD Look New and then OLD again...

Here's the old ugly book shelf we picked up at DI last year. Mike saw the potential in the "Green Monster" and came home with it! See... I'm not the only one that has an eye for junk! It's a great piece. Solid and strong and unusual in it's configurations.

So there it sat in our third upstairs bedroom all year long begging to be refinished and to have a more meaningful purpose then dust collector and eBay inventory sorter. Finally once we converted the office into a nursery it made itself at home in the perfect spot, but like a contestant on "America's Next Top Model" it knew a makeover was just around the corner!

Te Da...

Green Monster no more! Sweet Bookshelf is now the perfect addition to a little girls Nursery! I PROMISE I'll have the nursery ready to show off soon! This was the last big project before I start "Frosting" the room with details! Furniture first right!

The curtains are made out of cloth napkins, the same ones I used to make the crib dust ruffle with. I'm loving how this room is coming together! It's my new favorite room in the house! The accessories are the hardest part for me. I just want it all to look perfect! Anyway...

Enjoy this little project. I hope it inspires you to go yard sale hunting for a diamond in the rough! This is my favorite time of year! DI is chuck full of Spring cleaning clear outs and yard sale signs lure me to come hither on Saturday mornings! I got paint brush in hand people!!!! BRING IT ON!!
