Gettin' busy in the Kitchen!!!!

he he! Nice title huh!!!!

I've been busy over the last few days spreading my culinary wings in the kitchen and loving the results!

For this years Ward Christmas Party I went all out and tried my hand at Home made Cream Puffs and Custard filled fruit tarts! I was literally in the kitchen for 4 hours with these tall orders! I was most worried and impressed with my cream puffs! They looked so legit when all was said and done and the last stripe of chocolate was drizzled and the last sprinkle of powered sugar placed!!!!!
The tarts were a little tricky too with delicate shells. I did have a few casualties that were happily gobbled up by my sue chefs! They looked too cute to eat but not a single one was left at the end of the night!

Then today for the first time I dove head first into baking bread! I swear a choir of Angels sang as I opened my new Kitchen Aid out of it's big box, thanks to my Dad and Kathy for the early Christmas Gift!I told you it would be de flowered before Christmas!!! I recently upgraded to the Mac Daddy of all Kitchen Aids. This thing is a beast! Our friends tipped us off on an Amazing, can't pass up, deal of a life time on AMAZON and we jumped on it! The results came in the form of this awe inspiring, Silver beauty I've affectionatly named Sally!
Sally and I became fast friends today as she and I whipped up our first few loaves of breads! Not too bad for my first try! I'd love any, I mean ANY tried and true recipes for bread!Send them my way! It's going to be our new Sunday tradition. To fill the house full of that one of kind fresh bread smell and see who can drool the most!

I have 2 recipes that I love and change between depending on my mood. One is start to finish and delicious in 1 hour (no joke - unless you haven't ground your wheat yet and then add the time for grinding to the hour). The other takes a little longer, has much fewer and less expensive ingredients, and tastes slightly better - to me. email me if you want them amyjenks@gmail.com

Ok, so...I'm Elisa Hasslers sister in Montana, and I really need your cream puff and tart recipes!
If they are not top secret!
And if the pony express can get them to me via my email which is :
ebl@zipmt.com

You have a darling family and no wonder they are all smiling, when they have a mom who bakes like you do!

I feel like i still need 3 more weeks, this holiday is coming up too fast.
