Thanksgiving....

So it came and went without a hitch as they say. With last minute guests not being able to make it, it was a small gathering. We just had my mom over for the day. So there I was with a wink and a prayer that my meal would be a successes and the stars must have been aligned because the meal was incredible!!!!!! We postponed the meal to later that night due to the in laws not making it and my mom having to work but about noon I get a call that my mom got off early so there I was frantically dancing in the kitchen with a raw bird in my hands wishing I had had it in the oven hours ago. Oh well... nothing really panned out like I had imagined but all in all the bird was juicy, the kids were happy and we all had plenty to eat and still do!!!! Thanks mom for helping in the kitchen. Sorry it was so boring.

We had hours to kill before we ate so we watch Football, decorated for Christmas and the girls occupied Grandma like they usually do.

I was anxious to see how my first Turkey ever would turn out! My brother with his all knowing poultry skills left that morning but not before "Talking Turkey" with me and leaving me some pointers!!! Thanks to him I have to confess, I baked the best Turkey ever!!!No offense Grandma's, Mom's, and other Holiday hosts!!! But honestly it was so dang good!!!

Here I am anxiously waiting for that dang self timer thingy to pop out of the bird!!! I am very impatient and I was so excited to see it actually pop!!! But I missed it!!

You can tell by my fancy Thanksgiving attire that I lacked the motivation to really get ready for the day! Sorry if that offends anyone! I just sort of gave into the comfy, relaxing, hanging around the house, sort of day it all became! Oops!

It ended up being a great day with all it's unpredictable events! We had a wonderful family day at home! I hope all of you had a great Holiday!

Good girl with your first turkey dinner! I bet it was the yummiest turkey ever. My first attempt at a turkey dinner was the Christmas Dax was born when he was just a few weeks old and we stayed home. It was so much fun...and so good! I'm sure you'll have many more to come!

The pic of you waiting at the oven is too funny. Love your impatience :) reminds me when we were young and trying to lay out and get tan, you barely made it 15 minutes. Good job on the dinner!

I LOVE the pic of you by the oven door. You look like a little girl. I have to say I wish I was there to sample your turkey. I want to know what you did to make your turkey so moist and delicious. Lizzy liked the picture of Macy and wanted to know who was with her and what was she doing. We miss you guys.
